डाउन टू हेल is about ready to graduate from Early Access on Steam starting August 30th. The game is available right now as an Early Access title for just $9.99 over on the स्टीम दुकान. It has fairly positive reviews leading up to its release, and that’s not all: the game is also set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch soon.

Polish indie outfit Red Dev Studio and publisher Ultimate Games announced that डाउन टू हेल, the hardcore, heavy-metal, hack-and-slash side-scroller will appear on the Nintendo Switch… soon.

The game centers around a holy knight who was saved by a mysterious girl, but the girl falls into peril during a demon raid upon the Earth, forcing the knight to gird his resolve and force demons to kiss steel as he cleaves and slashes his way through hordes of hell’s minions.

The editing for the trailer is kind of cheap, but the aesthetics are on point. I especially like the use of the hazy, sunset-hues and misty fog to give the impression of an almost nightmarish dream.

I’m not the biggest fan of the Flash-style animations, but the general atmosphere and tone of the art-style reminds me of a darker, medieval-fantasy version of जानवर की छाया.

The actual gameplay sees players wielding both sword and magic as hordes of demons must be slain on the path to saving the girl and defeating three massive bosses.

One of the highlights is that the game features heavy metal music from Decapitated, KORONAL, and other artists within the genre. Many of the scenarios and levels are also designed around the concept of heavy metal album covers, which is pretty cool. It reminds me a lot of Wolf Brew Games’ मारे गए! or Digital Uppercuts’ Valfaris.

While the Steam version is expected to graduate from Early Access on August 30th, the Nintendo Switch version is apparently planned to arrive “soon”. There’s no release date set in stone yet but the press release indicates that it will be out before 2019 wraps up.
